PHHHOTO lets you share looping videos from an event without requiring hashtags

PHHHOTO lets you share looping videos from an event without requiring hashtags

You can’t go to a wedding these days without being told which hashtag to use when uploading images to social media, so animated photobooth company PHHHOTO wants to change that by introducing a Party mode for its app.

phhhoto-party-pizzaPHHHOTO lets you take a series of pictures that get turned into a looping video. With the new Party feature, you can host a public or private ‘party’ so guests can share those videos in a timeline. Guests can swipe back and forth to see moving images being shared in the room, or turn on “flashback” mode to watch a fast-paced recap of what’s been uploaded.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be for formal events either. If you’re bored and just want to share some random pics, you can browse for the appropriate public ‘party’ (a Pizza Party room, for example) to add your own contribution.

PHHHOTO the app is in a bit of a crowded space now that Instagram’s Boomerang is in the mix, but perhaps having its own ability to start a party room instead of a hashtag that can be easily hijacked might give it that slight advantage.

The app is available for free on both iOS and Android.
