Stay put, couch potatoes; Coursera is now available for Apple TV

Coursera’s online learning platform is now available for Apple TV, which the company says is a first.

The app brings the full Web-based Coursera course-load into your living room, just like its iOS counterpart. You can learn about everything from public speaking to programming languages, and get tied up in architecture if you want. All courses are taught by professors from well-respected universities like Duke and Princeton.

If you really want to get deep into learning new stuff, you can even learn how to learn. Keanu Reeves says “whoa.”

According to Coursera, its tvOS app is “Apple TV’s first ever introduction of online learning to its platform.”

Coursera doesn’t have the same focus of Udacity has, nor will it actually offer degrees in any way. But if you’re looking to learn a thing or two, it’s a good resource.

And now that you don’t have to get up off of your couch, there’s no excuse not to give it a shot.

Coursera can be found via a search in the Apple TV App Store, and is available as a free download.
