Waze just got its biggest update since being acquired by Google

Waze, the navigation app that uses crowdsourced data to warn you about incidents on the road, got a big update today for the first time in months.

The update, which has is only available on iOS for now, brings an all-new design that makes it easier to get to your destination. Importantly, it focuses on reducing taps between you and getting on the road.

A new map design is easier to read and makes alerts more prominent on the screen, so you’re able to actually see them at a glance.

There’s also a new ETA panel that shows when you’ll arrive, offers alternate routes, allows you to add stops or send your ETA to friends.

The update, which was well overdue, shows that Google is still working actively on Waze even though it acquired the company over two years ago.

Google said that the update is available for iOS users today and will come to Android users “soon.”
