Dojo overhauls its London going out app for iOS to make it easier to discover new events and places

Dojo, an iOS app for finding places to eat or drink and things to do in London, has been updated today to include new features aimed at making it easier to discover the capital’s hidden gems.

Available to download now, the update follows hot on the heels of an £800,000 funding round and has taken into account extensive user feedback, according to the company.

“At one point, we had an Excel spreadsheet containing 973 rows of comments from our users. We spent a week identifying trends and basically honing in on what our users wanted to improve,” Dojo’s CEO Robin Shimmin said.

As a result, there’s now a sleeker interface, better event and location discovery features and deeper integration with Uber and Citymapper.

While it’s undeniable that London already has a number of established – and startup – competitors to Dojo (think YPlan or TimeOut), the company is hoping to find success by going after a younger, mobile-first demographic.

An Android version is expected in “the next few weeks,” Dojo said.
