Kickstarter users pledged $529 million across 22,000 projects in 2014

Crowdfunding hit the mainstream in 2014, with over 22,000 projects being listed on Kickstarter alone.

The company today touted in it’s year in review that $529 millions dollars were pledged to projects in 2014, with over $1,000 a minute being committed by its users.

In Kickstarter’s 2014 by the numbers, the company revealed that Film & Video along with Music were the two most successfully funded categories and those with the most dollars pledged were naturally the technology category at $125 million and design at $96.5 million.

The top projects of 2014 included Bring Back Reading Rainbow, Coolest Cooler and Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
