Uber suspends service in Portland for three months

When a city sues your service, it’s probably a good idea to try and work it out with said municipality.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Uber and Portland, Oregon have stuck a deal that would suspend the car service for three months while the city works on changing regulations around ride-sharing services.

After three months, Uber will resume offering rides regardless if the new regulations are in place.

Previously, Portland issued a cease and desist order to Uber which led the company to post an online petition meant to convince Portland Mayor Charlie Hales that citizens really wanted Uber operating in their town.
