Themeboard is a themeable iOS keyboard with kaomoji support so you can ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ on the go

Themeboard is a themeable iOS keyboard with kaomoji support so you can ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ on the go

Over the last few weeks there has been a bunch of great new iOS keyboards, like Crimson and Emojimo, but every now and then there’s another fresh idea that catches my eye.

Themeboard for iOS is a new keyboard that is entirely themeable; designers can make their themes available for in-app purchase and immediate use using the app, without requiring the user to download and install a whole new keyboard.

The idea is a simple one, but means that you get a whole lot more options than just the default one that comes with the keyboard. At launch, there’s a bunch of beautiful keyboard designs available like “New York” and “Hours.”

Taphive, the company behind Themeboard, also partnered with the European Space Agency to provide a number of free themes, as well as Noidentity and a number of other organizations.

Getting themes is as easy as opening the Themeboard app and hitting the theme store which offers a ton of options at launch. There are some great, unique designs already available and the team promises more will be added over time as designers get onboard.

Finally, someone built the perfect keyboard for me!

The keyboard itself, no matter the design, supports all iOS default keyboard options like auto correction and quick delete, with some enhancements like the emoji/kaomoji bar and slide-shift to capitalize.

The best news is that Themeboard is available for free for iPhone and iPad on the App Store today, with some in app purchases for select keyboards. Taphive told me that the “majority” of themes will be free.
