iHeartRadio announces Android Wear integration coming on October 15

Online music service iHeartRadio today announced the upcoming release of its Android Wear app on October 15.

The Android Wear integration goes beyond simple notifications to offer access to the last station you played, recommended stations and your list of favorites. You can also use it to control volume on your phone and thumb up or thumb down songs you like. The app supports all current Android Wear devices.

Last month, Clear Channel rebranded as iHeartMedia, illustrating a deeper focus on its iHeartRadio network. iHeartMedia CEO Bob Pittman explained on Wednesday that the company decided to rebrand because its old name “wasn’t working for [it] anymore.”

Looking forward, iHeartRadio plans to introduce a full-screen mode for its Web player.
