Nike+ Running for Android now offers personalized training programs, tips and reminders

Nike+ Running for Android now offers personalized training programs, tips and reminders

Six months after its debut in the iPhone app, Nike+ Running for Android has been updated with a new scheduling feature called Coach. The tool helps you to build a personalized training program and track your progress as you work towards an upcoming race.

Available from the navigation menu, you can create a schedule to help you nail a 5K, 10K, half-marathon or full marathon. After setting your distance, the Nike+ Running app will offer three difficulty levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced) before suggesting a new program.

Once you’ve set a date for the race, Nike will determine when your program should start and remind you when it’s time to hit the streets. If it’s far off, the app will also suggest the distances you should be covering in the meantime.

While the program is underway, you can track your progress and also look at the runs you’re expected to complete in the days ahead.
