LinkedIn launches a new Job Search iPhone app in the US

LinkedIn launches a new Job Search iPhone app in the US

LinkedIn has released a new app for the iPhone focused squarely on job hunting, which means no news, updates or other content to distract you from the task at hand.

Announced today, the new app is currently only available for users in the US but a spokesperson for the company said that it would be offered in more regions and languages at a later date.

Essentially, the main thrust behind the app is searching for a new job, which can be a little tricky while sitting at the desk in your current job, so LinkedIn expects you to start searching when you are out-and-about and have the odd minute. In a queue for coffee, waiting for a bus, that sort of thing.

To help you weed through the listings, you can filter by title, location, company, industry or seniority level and you’ll receive recommendations based on saved searches and jobs that you’ve viewed.

Handily, you’ll also receive notifications when your saved jobs are due to expire or when a recruiter takes a look at your application. It’s always nice to know you’re not just firing off applications into the ether, so receiving a notification that someone did at least glance at it should be a little reassuring.

Oh, and keeping discretion as its byword, everything you do in the LinkedIn Job Search app is private and not shared with your network.
