Pacemaker for iPad updated with cover art ‘Mix Moments’ and local iTunes search results

The Pacemaker DJ app for the iPad has today been updated with a new feature called Mix Moments that allows users to create “a cover art mash up” of whichever tracks are currently being mixed.

Alongside the cover art feature, the company has also added a new audio effect called ChopChop, which it says is good for adding a stuttering sound to build suspense before a big drop. We’d expect to see a range more new effects added over time, given that the app is free to download but is monetised through in-app purchases.

One of Pacemaker’s key strengths is its integration with Spotify and iTunes. By making sure there are two large music services ready to go, budding DJs have access to a massive amount of music for their mixing needs. From today, the iTunes integration will now return results for music that you already have stored on the device, as well as what’s available on the store.

It may well have only officially launched just a couple of months ago, but Pacemaker says that over four million minutes of Spotify music have been mixed already using the app.
