Quick 4 Minute Workout: The iPhone app for when 7 minutes is just too long…

One of the most recent fitness crazes to come to the fore is the 7 Minute Workout, a short and snappy high-intensity session spanning 12 exercises of 30 seconds each, interjected with a series of 10 second breaks. But what if you don’t have enough time for even that? Well, here’s a 4-minute workout for you.

From the same folk that gave us Quick Fit, an iPhone app that delivers more than just a 7-minute workout, the Quick 4-minute Workout adopts a similar philosophy. It’s built on the principles of Tabata, a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) program that was apparently used by Japanese athletes.

The workouts consist of 8 cycles with 20 seconds of exercise, each followed by ten seconds of rest. The free version of the app guides you through the basic workouts, but to gain access to HD videos, audio prompts, and a weight- and workout tracker, you’ll need to cough up $0.99 for each.
