Tumblr redesigns its iOS app, adds activity tab to track new likes, reblogs and followers

tumblr_mw9sedeiZW1qz8q0ho1_500Tumblr, the Yahoo-owned blogging platform, has given its iOS app a redesign to bring it in line with the style of Apple’s new iOS 7 platform, while adding new features.

Chief among the changes is a new compose screen, which stacks post creation options in a grid-style layout, while there are visual changes to the dashboard where new posts from followed blogs show up, and the user account tab. One new addition is a tab for activity — which is a quick way to keep up with new likes, reblogs and followers.

Tumblr now also allows users to reblog faster than before, and the app includes an autocomplete for tags while composing a post.
