Apple releases an iPad version of its Apple Store app just in time for the holidays

Apple today released an iPad version of its Apple Store app, just in time for the holiday shopping season. The new app is separate from the iPhone version in order to take advantage of the tablet form factor.

With the app, you’ll be able to shop for Apple products, schedule Genius Bar appointments and sign up for workshops and events. Apple hasn’t included the in-store features of its iPhone app since iPads aren’t as much of a mobile use case.

Apple Store for iPad takes the company’s minimalist aesthetic to the extreme, showing mostly product photos without any text. The app also includes a list of trending products, a first for Apple.

You’ll also find other nice interactive touches. For instance, if you’re comparing a grid of headphones and you swipe to rotate the view on one of them, the other products will also rotate.

The iPad is now the best place to shop for new Apple products and accessories. This could be very dangerous for my bank account.
