Bitcoin digital wallet service Coinbase has had its iOS app pulled from the App Store

Bitcoin digital wallet service Coinbase has had its iOS app pulled from the App Store

Less than a month after its relaunch, the Coinbase for iOS app has been pulled from the App Store. As noted by TechCrunch, The Bitcoin wallet service is still available as an Android app in the Google Play store.

BitcoinBlogger believes the new iOS app was taken down by Apple, rather than Coinbase. HackerNews user coinbase-craig posted on the site: “We didn’t remove it.” The updated iOS app was released in October, giving supporters of the digital currency a means of buying, selling, sending and managing their virtual money pit on the move. It replaced a previous version of the app that was released earlier this year, but lacked the ability to buy and sell Bitcoins, reportedly due to concerns from Apple.

We have reached out to Apple and Coinbase, and will update this article with any information we receive.
