Roku, the company behind the little internet-connected streaming TV box, has signed a deal with AOL to bring the media organization’s content to TVs.
Announced today, the deal will see business, entertainment, and tech news powered by AOL on the Roku LT, Roku 1, and Roku 2 boxes. All current-generation Roku devices – the Roku LT (models 2400 and 2450), Roku HD (model 2500), Roku 2 HD, Roku 2 XD, Roku 2 XS and Roku 3 players as well as the Roku Streaming Stick- will receive the AOL app update in the coming weeks.
So. Much. Tech.
Some of the biggest names in tech are coming to TNW Conference in Amsterdam this May.
As well as getting AOL’s own content, the app also delivers content from other syndicated partners such as the Wall Street Journal, The Associated Press, Reuters, BBCNews, HuffPost Live, Newsy, E!, CNET, Engadget, ET, StoryHunter and globalpost.
