Popular desktop Instagram client Instagrille is now called Pixsta

Two months after Instagram issued new brand guidelines banning third-party clients from using ‘Insta’ or ‘Gram’ in their names, one of the more popular desktop-based incarnations has, well, changed its name.

As we’ve previously noted, Instagrille is a lovely app that brings Instagram to your Windows PC, but 10 million downloads later it has now changed to Pixsta.

In addition to viewing, searching and downloading Instagram photos, the Pokki-owned service also lets you discover photos from users in your immediate vicinity, and with its latest upgrade, it also now lets you watch Instagram videos directly from the desktop too.
