Netflix iOS app gets updated with HD and Airplay streaming for iOS 7

A Netflix return mailer is pictured in MNetflix has updated its iOS app today to include its “Super HD” streaming for iOS 7, a feature that the video site made available to all its members last week, regardless of their Internet Service Provider.

This means Netflix app users can see much higher-quality videos on their smartphones if their Internet quality allows for it. Netflix says it uses what is known as “adaptive streaming” to dynamically adjust the video quality based on available bandwidth.

Version 5 of the Netflix app has also added support for AirPlay, which lets you stream Netflix TV shows to your Apple TVs. This comes as competitor LoveFilm Instant also updated its iOS app last month to add support for AirPlay.
