On the day of iOS 7’s release, Skype has pushed out an update for its iPhone app and its iPad app, adding the ability to join group voice calls and improving other existing features. You can download the new versions now directly from Apple’s App Store: iPhone and iPad.

In addition to being able to join group voice calls, Skype has also improved voice and video call quality. While this improvement is in almost every update of Skype apps, this one also mentions improvements to accessibility and the dial pad, but doesn’t elaborate further.

The combined Skype 4.1.2 for iPhone and iPad changelog is as follows:

  • Join group voice calls from your iPhone/iPad.
  • Voice and video call quality improvements.
  • Accessibility improvements.
  • Dial pad improvements.
  • Get help by accessing FAQs from the app.

Despite all the apps getting updated today, Skype’s changelog makes no mention of iOS 7, and you can clearly see in the screenshot above that the user interface hasn’t changed. It appears Microsoft isn’t yet ready to deliver a design that works well with Apple’s latest and greatest mobile operating system version.
