Techstars alum Pickie now lets you buy anything from its personalized magazine-style shopping app

Techstars alum Pickie now lets you buy anything from its personalized magazine-style shopping app

Almost nine months after Pickie launched for iPad, the personalized shopping app has been given a bit of a makeover, with an all-new design and full e-commerce capabilities.

As a quick reminder, Pickie serves up a magazine-style app that showcases items you may like to buy based on your tastes – this covers fashion, beauty & home goods. So essentially, you get a colorful, tailored publication full of products you’d like to purchase. That’s the idea, at least.

In its previous guise, Pickie did let you buy certain items from some categories directly from within the app, but for the most part it would connect with third-party retailers to complete the transaction. With version 2.0, however, all items are now fully ‘shoppable’.

Moreover, the app has been given more than a spit-shine, with new page layouts and video content thrown into the mix, while an enhanced product search makes it easier to find stuff.

As we’ve previously reported, Pickie is a Techstars alum and recently closed a $1m investment round led by DFJ Gotham Ventures, with participation from other notable names including New York-based development house and accelerator Betaworks.

Pickie 2.0 is available for iPad now.
