After launching on Android more than seven months ago, Amazon has today released Cloud Drive Photos for iPhone.
This new app, which lets iPhone and iPod Touch owners store and share images through Amazon Cloud Drive, furthers the company’s consumer-facing cloud storage efforts in the face of steep competition from the likes of Google, Dropbox and Apple.
Cloud Drive Photos for iPhone features an auto-save capabilities, and lets you view exactly which photos you currently have on your device and which are in Cloud Drive. In our early tests, the app feels relatively responsive and packs a photo-centric interface that’s easy on the eyes.
Like we said back in November, Amazon Cloud Drive Photos is intended to compliment Amazon’s existing Cloud Drive service, allowing new users to take advantage of the free 5GB of storage that the company currently offers.
