TNW-PickOfTheDayWe last caught up with Flayvr back in December, just as the startup announced it was making it even easier to share automatically-created photo and video albums.

The idea behind Flayvr is simple – it essentially monitors your Camera Roll for photos and videos, and groups them into albums based on the time and location they were taken. These can then be shared via Facebook, Twitter, Google+, SMS or email, and are viewable by others via Flayvr’s website.

Launched in 2012 by CEO Ron Levy and CTO Adi Ashkenazi, Flayvr has thus far been iOS-only, but Levy and Ashkenazi have long-promised an Android incarnation too. And today, this promise has been delivered.

Flayvr arrives on Android

Much like the iOS incarnation, Flayvr for Android is effortless to use, automatically drawing on your camera roll’s content to enable you to share albums based on the time and location. More often than not, this will be entirely accurate, but you can choose to edit each album and remove rogue close-ups of the carpet.

Indeed, hitting the little pen icon at the top right lets you tweak the title of each ‘Flayvr’, and highlight the actual content you wish to include in each album. As with the iOS version, you can also share albums as HTML5 over email, SMS or directly to social networks.

“Launching on Android is an opportunity for us to share the best of what Flayvr has to offer with new audiences across the world and help them bring back to life millions of photos and videos that are stuck on devices,” says co-founder and CEO Levy.

Indeed, Flayvr is a really easy way to share photos and videos, removing the hassle of manually sifting through your library to share media based around a certain theme. And it’s available to download for Android now.
