Watching TV shows and movies online has never been easier, but services like Netflix still have work to do when it comes to surfacing the best content. Sites like Rotten Tomatoes, however, do an excellent job of highlighting what’s great, while bluntly telling you when something should have never been made.

It seems obvious that the two services should work together — at least, that appears to be the frame of thought behind Netflix Rate: a Chrome extension which adds IMDB and Rotten Tomato ratings to Netflix by overwriting the site’s CSS styles.

The extension itself is quite simple, but if you rely on Netflix for streaming videos, it comes in handy when you’re browsing for something new to watch. How it works:

The extension has worked perfectly for a majority of our tests, but it did once take us to Raiders of the Lost Ark instead of Lost. That in mind, the free add-on is still certainly worth a try for avid Netflix users. Nab it via the link below and let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Update: Reader Leandro A. has tipped us that this extension may not work in certain regions outside the US.
