Cloud storage service Dropbox has continued to enhance the multimedia experience on its iOS application after an update added improvements to video content streaming; new two new languages and increased support for password-protected docs have also been rolled in.

The streaming change has improved the playback of videos and it comes just a month after Dropbox removed full image limitations on the app for the iPhone and iPad, and two months after it added the option to share content to Twitter and Facebook.

Dropbox already supports the iPhone 5 and iOS 6 but it has now added support for password-protected documents from Microsoft Office on iOS 6.

The other change sees the inclusion of support for Italian and Iberian (European Spanish), both of which languages that Dropbox added to its service earlier this month.

As a regular Dropbox user, the video enhancements are a step forward that I can appreciate but the company is still has a couple of kinks to iron out around photos. Uploaded images now maintain their resolution, thanks to the most recent update, but they decrease in size and this has adverse effects on color compression and causes longer loading times.

The service is already a great way to back photos up on the fly, but it would be all better for fixing these two problems that have the potential to frustrate.

Dropbox has made a sustained push towards images and shareable content this year, having redesigned its Web service for images, added instant updates and let users allow friends to share their folders with others.

The company passed a big milestone when it hit 100 million registered users on November 12.
