The most noteworthy new feature in the new version is group messaging.
With the addition of group texting capability, Viber isn’t challenging services like Skype, iMessage and WhatsApp anymore, but also group messaging tools like GroupMe, CloudTalk, Celly, textPlus and Reach Alert, among others.
Other improvements in Viber 2.2 include better call quality across platforms and various user interface enhancements.
Viber 2.2 for Android also includes support for nine new languages with additional languages “coming very soon” for all Viber-supported platforms.
