As The Verge first pointed out, the iOS app previously known as Google Places has finally gotten its name changed to Google+ Local, to reflect the revamped service that the company launched at the end of May.
You can now use voice to search for places, and its experience for exploring is vastly improved. Obviously, Zagat ratings, which are the centerpiece of Google+ Local, also comes along for the ride.
Google continues to clean up its product branding, making everything feel more intertwined. That’s of course, because everything is becoming more intertwined.
This functionality is already included in the Android version of Google Maps.
