Breaking News debuts its first iPad app for discovering news before everyone else

If you’re not aware, the @BreakingNews account on Twitter is one of the speediest at getting the latest worldwide breaking news to the masses. It’s quite impressive to see how far along it has come. Since MSNBC acquired the service in 2010, it keeps getting better.

The team has launched a new version of its iOS app, but more importantly, its first iPad version.

Here’s what Breaking News had to say about it today:

The new universal app offers a broader range of real-time updates than you’ll see on @breakingnews on Twitter, with push alerts, story tracking and a real-time map of breaking stories. And as always, it’s powered by our 24/7 team of journalists, who select and verify stories in real-time.

Take a look at the service in all of its iPad glory:

For those of you not on an iPad, the app has gotten some nice design tweaks for your iPhone. It’s definitely worth the update.
