Skype for Windows updated with improved Facebook integration

Skype for Windows updated with improved Facebook integration

If you’re a Skype user running Windows, it’s well worth grabbing the latest update to the soon-to-be-Microsoft-owned VoIP and IM software. Version 5.5, fresh out of beta, brings a number of useful improvements.

First up, Facebook integration is improved, with the ability to see which friends are online from a new Facebook Contacts tab. It’s also possible to update your Facebook status, view comments and Like posts right from the app – it’s essentially a basic Facebook client.

Improved video and group video controls, enhanced video call reliability, updated emoticons and smoother animations are all part of the package too, and Skype is recommending all Windows users make the upgrade.
