With the advent of smartphone apps, it has never been so easy to take care of our health and fitness regimen. From just monitoring sporting and workout activities to offering insightful advice, there is an app for everything. We have put together a list of awesome apps that will help everyone remain healthy and fit.
A perfect choice for wannabe marathon runners. People who have been staying at the comfort of their houses are familiarised to running first and then trained to incrementally build up their running strength in just 9 weeks. The app sends audio prompts everytime you need to change from running to walking according to the C25K plan. That way, you don’t have to look at your stopwatch all the time and keep listening to your tracks. It costs $2.99
So. Much. Tech.
Some of the biggest names in tech are coming to TNW Conference in Amsterdam this May.
RunKeeper leverages the built in GPS tracker to make running fun and social. All recorded data is synced to the RunKeeper website from where you can view a history of all of your activities, and cumulative totals of all of your vital stats. From a beautiful and easy to use interface, you can also enter your workout activities manually too. The app is available free of cost.
DailyBurn provides great fitness plans, nutritional tracking, and social motivation to help you reach health and fitness goals. Like RunKeeper, they have an awesome web app to fall back on if the mobile isn’t within your reach. The app is free.
Endomondo is a sports community that brings together people who are into running, cycling, hiking or any other outdoor sport for that matter. With their iPhone app that tracks your sporting activities via GPS, you can now challenge and encourage friends, keep track your history and much more. There is a lite app and the full featured version costs $3.99
As the name suggests, the app is designed for cycling enthusiasts. Cyclemeter constantly records your time, location, distance, elevation and speed for as long as you want. While racing through the track, the app can be controlled using the earphone remote. You will have to fork out $4.99 to own this awesome looking app.
GymGoal is a complete app for those who workout regularly. From an extensive animated exercise database to obtaining workout scheduling and from progress tracking to tracking measurements, the app can do anything. Before paying up $2.99 for the full version of the app, you can take the lite app for a spin and then make the decision.
This is the only fitness and healthcare app I use on a regular basis (That should tell a lot about my fitness or the lack of it). The brilliant looking app comes with cool effects and sounds. The app lets you keep track of your weight on a regular basis and you can even plan a weight loss plan with it. From a gorgeous reports screen, a graphical progress of your goal can be monitored step by step. Personally, I would say Weightbot is the best Tapbot app ever. The app costs $1.99.
Which one is your favorite?
