Huge Flipboard update integrates Flickr, Google Reader, Facebook Groups and more

Huge Flipboard update integrates Flickr, Google Reader, Facebook Groups and more

Flipboard, chronicled first by our Zee, is one of, if not the, best apps on the iPad.  Hyperbole?  Hardly.  Flipboard was recently named  iPad app of the year by Apple, featured at the very top of Apple’s “Apps for iPad” page.

Now, after September updates, the announcement of a partnership with Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit issue, and the company’s potential foray on to a web browser, Flipboard has just launched massive updates to its iPad app.

Here’s your first look at what’s been updated, bearing in mind they are so grand that you may lose conciousness, so please sit down.

To begin, Flipboard now allows users to view items posted to Flickr, and posts imported from one’s Google Reader.  So neat.

Users can zoom in on shared items, starred items and folders from Google Reader or view one’s favorite photos, groups, photostreams and more, in Flickr.

On the social media front, Flipboard now allows users to view Facebook groups, fan pages, friends’ photos or friend lists.  With respect to Twitter, one can now tap on the Flipboard masthead to view favorite tweets, tweets that mention you or view your public and private lists.

Moreover, with Flipboard’s new features, one can post status updates, share photos and add comments from anywhere in Flipboard, posting across social networks.

Flipboard has upped the ante with their latest updates, further transforming the way people discover, browse, share content across their social networks.  If you have the app, update now, and if you have yet to experience the greatness of Flipboard, download the app here.

Which new feature excites you most, and what you like to see Flipboard add in its next update?
