If you were watching the Apple event today, you were treated to a very interesting game demonstration from Epic Games featuring a future title called “Project Sword.”
It was a great looking app, and everyone in the audience was impressed by it. Wait no more, a stripped down version of the game is in the app store, and it is free. Something that we want to stress, this is not the full game that was shown, it is missing some functionality. Also, in this instance the game is called “Epic Citadel.”
Head over here, the app works on iPad and iPhone. Have fun!
In case you missed it, it looks like this:

Screenshot looks like Settlers VI: Rise of an Empire
That’s a gorgeous game, and looked amazing at the event, but… I’m not sure an iPhone game can hold my attention long enough to justify me buying an immersive, time-consuming, console-esque game. Heck, I can’t even bring myself to play more than an hour into the old Final Fantasy games, and I’m a huge fan of the series.
I just wonder if the iPhone can work as more than a vehicle for casual games.
Wow impressive! The free download is just a demo in which you can walk around and do nothing more. Still it looks impressive on an iPad. The controls are also easy to master. It was about time the game industry took these devices seriously. Epic shows the potential of mobile gaming here. Sony and Nintendo will have a hard time coping with this.
very nice article
