Boomerang: An incredibly useful tool from Yahoo! to help you investigate site speed.

A pretty nifty tool coming out of the Yahoo Developer Network, Boomerang is a piece of JavaScript that “measures the performance of your website from your end user’s point of view”.

Why is this important? In case you missed the announcement a few weeks back, Google is taking site loading speed into heavy consideration with search engine ranking. Beyond that fact, however, user experience should be one of the top priorities for any site. A big part of that experience is loading time.

There are some interesting use case scenarios on the site, including DNS latency, percieved performance and a few more. What will be interesting, though, is to see how other people decide to use Boomerang since it is open source; licensed under BSD.

So load it up, try it out and let us know what you think. Are you able to narrow down any information? How useful is Boomerang?
