Visit Notepad.cc, start typing in the white area and the text is saved. Grab the short URL on the bottom of the page, add a password too if you wish, share with others or visit the URL on other devices – works great on the iPad.
You can collaborate on pages but you won’t see changes in real time a la Google Wave, I was hoping you would – probably the only down side.
There are other simple web based notepad ideas out there (see SimpleNote, Simpletext) but nothing that manages to remain this simple and still include a few notable features. If you’re a developer however, you should definitely check this out.

Good stuff.
So how does this work exactly? If I forget the url, the note is lost? How long are notes kept? Is there an “about” page anywhere?
yeah, if you forget your url, the note is lost am afraid. And notes – i’m assuming – are kept until the service shuts down. Not about page i’m afraid…a blog though: http://blog.notepad.cc/ but not much on it just yet.
Looks like Notepad.cc is in fact a sleeker version of what Etherpad can do. Etherpad can not password protect your files but does support versioning and simultaneous editing
just epic! I love minimal style!
This is nice you can share your files using a permanent URL and the auto save works every few second. hire a programmer
