Well, Apple might be good at keeping secrets, but that hardly makes their partners as proficient at keeping quiet.
In footage originally snagged by TechCrunch, Stéphane Richard of France Télécom confirmed the forthcoming Apple tablet, with a webcam to boot.
I bet he’s getting spanked by Steve Jobs right now.
The tablet, long rumored to be due later this month, is all but sewn up in the eyes of the technological elite, with literally no major voices doubting its existence. Now with this, we can all settle in and just wait for the device to arrive.
The conversation arose between Stéphane Richard, and Jean-Pierre Elkabbach, a French journalist. Their conversation went as follows (translated from French):
Jean-Pierre Elkabbach: According to weekly Le Point, in a couple of days Apple will be launching its tablet computer …
Stéphane Richard: Yes.
Jean-Pierre Elkabbach: … equipped with a webcam.
Stéphane Richard: Yes.
Jean-Pierre Elkabbach: Are Orange customers going to be able to enjoy it?
Stéphane Richard: Of course!
Most interesting part: Orange customers are going to be able to enjoy it. I assume that he is suggesting that there will be sort of integrated plan to use the device? Perhaps internet via the cellular network everywhere? Subsidized devices with service plans? At least we do not have to wait too much longer.
Right, I am off to the bank to set aside the cash for the device. What do I need to save? $800? $1000? Drop your best price guess in the comments.
