Apple Maps will now tell you where to park (and plug in your Tesla)

Apple Maps will now tell you where to park (and plug in your Tesla)

Apple Maps now has insight from Parkopedia, a service that tells you where to park and plug in your electric vehicle.

It’s not an all-in strategy, though; Like it does with Yelp, Apple Maps will offer to open up the Parkopedia app for additional information like pricing, user reviews, special offers and real-time space availability.

In Apple Maps, a search for ‘parking’ will surface Parkopdeia results. It’s pretty straightforward, too; it treats general info as any other business, but also tells you how many spaces the lot or garage has as well as how many spots are reserved for accessibility.

“We’re excited to deliver detailed information on more than 40 million parking spaces in 75 countries to Apple Maps customers. This is a very important milestone for Parkopedia. Our combined footprint in the consumer and automotive space is huge and this opens the doors to delivering a world of innovative solutions,” said Parkopedia’s Head of Marketing, Christina Onesirosan Martinez.
