All developers can now submit Apple Watch apps to the App Store

All developers can now submit Apple Watch apps to the App Store

Apple has today quietly announced that it’s now expanding Apple Watch app submissions to all developers.

In a short post to the developer site, Apple is encouraging developers to prepare and submit WatchKit apps for review ahead of the April 24th launch date.

This guide walks developers through the requirements for submitting to the App Store. Developers can submit up to five screenshots of their app, are required to provide a similar icon to that of their companion iPhone app and must mention Apple Watch support in the update notes.

With Apple Watch pre-orders kicking off on April 10 and the device itself shipping on April 24, it’s best to get in early to avoid any delays.
