Apple has reached a deal to settle a civil lawsuit filed against the company over e-book pricing, according to a report from Re/Code.
The company lost an antitrust trial into e-book pricing last year and, in the wake of that, a case representing consumers across 33 states was filed. The plaintiffs sought as much as $840 million in compensation, but it isn’t clear at this point how much the settlement will be worth.
According to a court filing, the parties must submit their terms within the next 30 days, although the deal is yet to receive court approval. Apple is still appealing last year’s ruling which ruled it guilty of working with five publishers to fix prices.
