Here are the first pages of a new manga comic series about Steve Jobs’ life

The first pages of a manga comic book series examining the life of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs have hit the Internet, giving readers a crucial first glimpse at the art style and story written by Mari Yamazaki.

Spotted by Apple Insider (via Crunchyroll) manga publishing house Kodansha has released the preview following the first chapter’s publication in Kiss magazine in Japan earlier today.

The series reportedly follows the biography of Steve Jobs written by Walter Isaacson. The series is unlikely to follow the book page by page, but given that the initial biography was received positively – it’s probably not a bad place to draw inspiration from.

The preview, available from Yahoo Japan’s online bookstore, begins with a detailed color page – which is rare for manga in Japan – and an art style that is more realistic than most contemporary anime.

Notably, each page only holds three or four panels, which is likely a restraint created by the smaller page format used for manga serializations in Japan.

You can take a look at some example pages below, or head here for the full preview.

Numerous projects have tried to explore or capture the life of Steve Jobs. jOBS, a movie starring Ashton Kutcher as the Apple visionary, was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January. The public release has been pushed back from its original date of April 19, but in the meantime you can check out our full review.

An interactive memorial based on the design of an iPhone 5 was also built-in St. Petersburg earlier this year in order to remember Steve Jobs.
