Apple releases iTunes 11 with improved interface and expanded iCloud integration

Apple has today released iTunes 11, the latest version of its music, movie and app hub for the Mac and Windows computers. The new iTunes has been redesigned from the ground up with a completely new interface and more iCloud-centric features.

The new iTunes features a wide array of new features, including a fresh new design.

These include a new iTunes Store that has been completely revamped. You can now play purchases directly from iCloud or download them to sync to your devices. Up Next lets you see which songs are coming up and allows you to re-order them. A new MiniPlayer shows you album art and features a crisp new design. An improved search mechanism lets you see results across your library.

One of the nicest new things about iTunes 11 is the fact that it now features iCloud syncing, letting you begin playback of a TV show or movie on one device and continue playing it on another seamlessly from the same location.

You can download the new iTunes here for Mac or Windows, or via Software Update on your Mac. iTunes 11 had originally been scheduled for October but was delayed a month by Apple. We’ll bring you a full review once we’ve had some time to play with it.
