After weeks of teasing, Namco has finally pushed live Soulcalibur on the App Store, allowing retro gamers or former Dreamcast owners to relive the arcade classic on their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
The app isn’t cheap, coming in at $11.99/£7.99, but Namco has launched the title with a 20% ‘Release Sale’, so if you are wanting to experience the multiple game modes and play all 19 Soulcalibur characters, you probably won’t have a better time to purchase.
F**k it, we'll do it live!

Time Attack, Survival and Extra Survival options are integrated with Game Center’s leaderboards. Arcade Battle, Practice and Museum modes are also available but the Dreamcast’s Missions option is missing, as is any form of multiplayer.
Namco says it will deliver extra modes for the game, but it is not known if they will be delivered as free updates.
The game maker is set to launch Soulcalibur 5 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in February; if you can’t wait until then, the iOS version (complete with Retina display graphics) will easily fill that void.
