After announcing its new iBooks 2 platform, iTunes U iOS app, iBooks Author app for Mac and other educational features, Apple has released iTunes 10.5.3, allowing you to sync interactive textbooks to your iPad.

Apple says:

iTunes 10.5.3 allows you to sync interactive iBooks textbooks to your iPad. These Multi-Touch textbooks are available for purchase from the iTunes Store on your Mac or from the iBookstore included with iBooks 2 on your iPad.

Whilst Apple’s latest updates are focused on the iPad, users will still likely use iTunes to keep their files and downloads in sync, especially if they aren’t all that comfortable with Apple’s iCloud platform and its ability to store data in the Cloud.

iTunes 10.5.3 is a 102.15MB download for the Mac, 66.11MB for 32-bit Windows, and 67.98MB for 64-bit Windows.
