German mobile operator lets customers preorder an iPhone 5 from today

While the iPhone 5 (or whatever Apple ends up calling its next handset) still hasn’t received an official announcement, the anticipation around its release is now so great that you can preorder it already – if you’re a Deutsche Telekom customer in Germany, at least.

Bloomberg confirmed reports that had been circulating today about the move. A spokesperson for T-Mobile’s parent company said that it would allow customers to reserve the device if they “expressly request the successor model to the iPhone 4.”

So, at least one small group of people in the world are a little closer to getting what is sure to be a highly demanded device when it launches, widely expected to be at some point in the next couple of months. Deutsche Telekom isn’t giving out any juicy details such as the name, price or release date, however. So, Apple – throw us a bone, when can we actually get this thing?
