94% of iPhone users will buy another, most Blackberry users just want one already

94% of iPhone users will buy another, most Blackberry users just want one already

The iPhone has shown massive growth over the last several quarters running, with 20.3 million units being sold in Q3 alone and traditionally high satisfaction ratings. That’s why it’s not surprising that a recent note from Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster, reported by Business Insider, states that 94% of current iPhone owners will purchase another one for their next phone.

On the other hand, 67% of current BlackBerry owners just want to get rid of their device and get an iPhone next. These numbers don’t speak well for the chances of RIM’s new suite of BlackBerry devices, which look like more of the same.

Satisfaction rates seem to be low for Android devices as well, as only 47% of current Android owners said that they would purchase another Android-powered phone, while 42% were looking to switch to iPhone.

This survey isn’t by any means extensive, having only covered 216 smartphone users in the Minneapolis area, but the customer satisfaction difference between RIM and Apple, 94% versus only 26% of BlackBerry users, is pretty staggering.
