World’s first known news broadcast shot entirely using the iPad 2

World’s first known news broadcast shot entirely using the iPad 2

Fox 4 in South Texas broadcasted the first known news story from the iPad 2 yesterday as part of a St. Patrick’s day segment.

Reporter Mike McNeil broadcasted his piece from a liquor store and proved he was using the device by showing off his iPad 2 box. McNeil joking added that “all the experts who know how to shoot these stories, are out on real stories” so he fired up his iPad 2.

Sure, it’s a bit gimmicky but it would be cool to see more guerilla-style reporting using consumer devices. We would however recommend that you don’t walk backwards while holding the device, as McNeil does in the video below. At 3:42 we were sure he was about to bail into a floor display.
