if it is “An update is available for your computer” then this cartoon is wrong, false, misleading, incorrect. In the Mac, updates are always free.

For normal users (not heavy users) Linux is different of Chromium. Then….
“Linux” should be “Linux/Chromium” :) [2]

Vitor Hugo Silva
@Lisa Ballard That’s what you pay for the software update…. because a mac hardware upgrade: ~2000$
Elijah Meyer
@Vitor Hugo Silva @Lisa Ballard Actually, that’s what you pay for a new OS. Software updates a free.

Funny to stupid people who don’t bother to check their facts, because they think it’s true. In actuality, however, this is complete BULLSHIT. Tiger and Leopard were both $69. Snow Leopard was $29; but those weren’t weren’t even updates. They were entirely new operating systems, with robust new feature sets, and significant changes to the underlying code. Updates to each of those operating systems were/are/always have been FREE.

@Elijah Meyer LOL you’re exactly the type of person that makes this cartoon so funny! Apple charges crazy amounts for their HARDWARE. so much so, that they can afford to give away their OS for FREE and they STILL charge you for it! lol
Elijah Meyer
@Iman Sharee What, you mean people who can comprehend objective reality? There are many legitimately funny jokes to be made about the cost of Mac hardware, and the willingness of Mac users to pay that price. However, none of those jokes appear in this here comic. It doesn’t even mention hardware. It’s about the cost of an update. Which is, and always has been, FREE. You understand that those are entirely different (and, for the purpose of this comic, unrelated) things, correct?
So are you saying the joke in the comic — depicting something that’s never actually occurred in real life — is merely symbolic of an entirely different cost/benefit situation, that only non-mac users are privy to? WOW. Clearly your mind works on an entirely different level than mine.

@Elijah Meyer @Iman Sharee Forever alone.
