well this change is a few days old, but maybe still related to this.
For my opinion it seems that apple wants so kick out the FREE apps. if you are using itunes, go to a category on the left side they removed “top downloaded app” – where u usally found the most common free apps. In replace you only the the apps which were most bought and which are brining the most money to apple
