Safari gets an update and the Extensions Gallery goes live.

Safari gets an update and the Extensions Gallery goes live.

If you happen to follow me on Twitter, you probably know that I’m a recent convert to Safari as my primary browser. I’ve been waiting, like many have, for the Extensions Gallery to open, and it appears that today is the day.

Apple has just updated Safari to version 5.0.1 and opened the door on the Extensions Gallery at the same time. Thought the choices are a bit slim, at the moment, there are some amazing ones already available including an official Twitter extension.

Beyond Twitter, Safari Extensions get some loving from these names:

  • The New York Times
  • Major League Baseball
  • Amazon
  • Ebay
  • Glue

These are just a few of the offerings, so make sure to browse around.

On a side note, I can’t recommend Safari enough. I was an addict to Google Chrome, and tried Safari in order to review Ostrich. In the two weeks since that review, my addiction has changed entirely. Safari, for lack of any more specific description, just feels…better.
