In none of those pics is a voice call being made. The antenna issue is with the antenna used for cellular voice calls. So they are not holding it wrong and this is just sensationalist BS.

Right… and we all know your reception does not affect the ability to get incoming calls either, right?.. and if you notice, in all the pics they have full bars which in itself is BS. If you have little to no bars, chances are you won’t even receive a call. I have experienced this already many times when I all of a sudden have voicemail and no indication that I got a call.
Yup this is not a very big problem. It can easily be fixed.
It doesn’t matter that it is an easy fix – although a very ugly one. The point is it shouldn’t need to be fixed by the end user. Imagine if to use your favorite software (that you just spent hundreds of dollars on) you had to write the last couple hundred lines of code to get it working!

Interestingly, if you look at the reception bars, they still have 4-5 bars in all of the photos. Were they photoshopped, or did they just do the photo shoot 10 feet away from a cell tower?
As with any commercial or advertisement that shows a screen, it’s simulated. The same goes for phones, computers, portable gaming, etc.

I have the iPhone 4, no case, and have not experienced this issue. Millions of phones were purchased, and there are some complaints, not millions. I’m a “fanboy” if you want to call me that… because yes, I am a huge fan of this phone, and no other can come close to touching it in terms of quality, clarity of screen, number of available apps, and sheer usability.
All being said – if you don’t like it, think it’s “flawed,” whatever – don’t fucking buy one. End of story. Get a droid, get a blackberry, whatever.

What really bothers me is the fact that the “Bumpers” to fix this problem were available on Launch day. Obviously, they knew about this problem. So they created an extra work-around Instead of rotating the antenna a bit more. I love Apple, but I can’t buy their products at launch because they always do something stupid like this and then release a new version that “fixes” it and call it a “new” product. I’ll wait for the iPhone 4.2 in 6 months along with the iPad 2.1 with USB and Multi-Tasking.
iPhone haters will always hate just as iPhone lovers will always love. Posting crap like this never helps either side.
This isn’t the first phone to have the problem nor will it be the last. Is it disappointing? Yes. Is it the downfall of the iPhone? No.

Is this really deserving of a blog post? Phones are held a certain way so hands and fingers don’t block the screen. Increases product appeal and such in advertising.
Simply amazing. You know I think that Apple is facing all of these issues because they rushed to make the iPhone 4. Android more than likely caused this. However, Steve needs to give an official statement and soon. Until then we can only speculate.
