Why isn’t this a permanent fixture of the iPhone?
Thanks to the iPhone’s camera, Walk n Type lets you view exactly what’s in front of you as you walk, with the text your typing layered on top of it. Clearly not meant for driving, you can of course use it when your walking, sat down or I guess watching a movie…?
Once you’ve finished writing whatever it is you might be writing (email, text, tweet), you can copy and paste that into the app of your choice. It works with anything that accepts copy and paste.
Genius. Now lets get Apple onto this asap.
Video demo below, more info here and the app is available for $0.99 here.
(Remember this is only available for the iPhone, not the iPod Touch as the Touch doesn’t have a camera)

Wouldn’t you risk running into something when you eventually switch applications (copy, then paste)? Not every application is photographically transparent to the outside world. This is however programmatically nice work, but really? ;-)
there’s this other app called iType2Go which does the same, but it has landscape and also facebook/twitter/email integration..
google it if you want to find out more.. my friend has it on her iPhone and its cool.. :)

Sorry to nitpick, but the video above is not a demo, but rather a simulation.
I’d like to see an actual demo, though that would be a real feat to create without something like a helmet cam.
