Microsoft: Like Hell Those Black Screens Are Our Fault

microsoft-logoRedmond is claiming that “[Microsoft] the company has found those reports to be inaccurate and our comprehensive investigation has shown that none of the recently released updates are related to the behavior described in the reports.” So said Christopher Budd, Microsoft’s security response communications lead, to the SeattlePI.

We had previously reported that there were widespread claims of black screens being caused by Microsoft security updates. Microsoft now is claiming emphatically that no, this is no doing of theirs.

We express our condolences to Microsoft for being a bit off, it seems. But the question remains, what is causing this? Prevx found a fix that solved some of the problems, but a panacea has yet to appear.

While you can, most likely, now safely download and update your Windows security updates, something is still amiss. If you have a solution, send it in.
